Group 1:Freedom of ReligionThe freedom that we are writing about is freedom of religion. If we didn’t have that freedom we couldn’t worship the way we wanted. The government can’t tell us how or what to worship. Freedom of religion means that you can go to any church and you can be Catholic, Lutheran, or Christian etc. We can pray any time, any place, and any way we want.

Freedom for Those Accused of Crimes

People should be able to have a trial in front of a jury when they are accused of a crime. It is important because a lot of people would be in jail even if they were innocent. There has to be a judge, suspects, lawyers, witnesses and 12 people on the jury that say guilty or not guilty. This is a list of some of our rights or freedoms:

The right:
- To have a fair jury trial or judge trial.
- To have a lawyer.
- That you are assumed innocent until proven guilty.
- That you are not guilty if there is not enough proof.

Group 2:
There are ten amendments in the Constitution, but we are going to focus on two freedoms, the Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press.
The Freedom of Speech gives people permission to say whatever they want unless they are lying. Without the Freedom of Speech we would not be able to speak for ourselves.
Now we are going to talk about the Freedom of the Press. The Freedom of the Press means that you can write about people and things with their permission. If you do it without their permission you can get in big trouble. You also have to have permission to publish something about them. If someone does not want you to talk about them, they do not have to let you.

Group 3:
We have the right to bear arms. This means we can carry a gun with a license.
If someone goes hunting they must have a license to shoot the gun. We also have the right to keep a gun. This law is important because without this law anyone could carry a gun at anytime and that would be dangerous.

The government does not have the right to quarter soldiers in our homes without our permission. This means the government can’t come to your house and say, “This is not your house anymore.” This is important, because without this freedom the government could take your house and everything in it. What we own is important to us.

Group 4:
Freedom of Assembly
Freedom of Assembly means that people are allowed to have assemblies or gatherings. Assembly means a group of people gathered together for some purpose. The freedom of assembly is the freedom to meet in a meeting sometime, some place with some people.

Freedom to Protest Peacefully
The Freedom to Protest Peacefully is the freedom to say that you don’t want something to happen or to say that something isn’t fair. Something that isn’t fair might be slavery. The Freedom to protest peacefully also means people can say things that deny ideas or object strongly to an opinion, or that people can judge what others say that they do not like or agree with.

Our two freedoms are very important. The whole Bill of Rights is very important.

Group 5:We have been studying the Ten Amendments but we are focusing on two freedoms: trial by jury and freedom from unfair fines or punishments.

Trial by jury means people similar to me get to judge me if I am accused of a crime and have to go to court. Also, my friends cannot be on a jury if I am accused of a crime. This is very important because if it wasn’t an Amendment, innocent people might be sent to jail.

Now we are writing about our second freedom. It is that you are not allowed to charge unfair fines or give unfair punishments. You could not charge somebody two million dollars for stealing a banana from Wal-Mart. You could possibly be charged a smaller amount of money for this crime. This Freedom is important because it says that somebody could not be sued a lot of money for such a small thing.
